Nampong is the border town at the foot of Pangsau Pass on the old Ledo-Stilwell Road: WWII wreckage relics, the January Pangsau Pass Festival, and the road climbing toward the Myanmar line at 3,700ft, with the still, supposedly bottomless Lake of No Return nearby.

Quick answers

Nampong at a glance

Can I cross into Myanmar at Pangsau?

Not casually: the formal crossing has limited regulated days; treat the pass as a viewpoint unless you have arranged formalities.

Practicals

Permits & season

ILP required for Indian nationals; PAP for most foreign nationals. Arranged ahead of travel; we handle it for booked travellers.

March to June and September to November are the clean windows; high passes close or turn risky in winter and peak monsoon.
