How to Reach Arunachal Pradesh: Every Gateway Explained
Arunachal has no single door: you pick the gateway that matches your circuit. Guwahati serves Tawang and the west, Dibrugarh the east, Lilabari and Tezpur the middle routes. All of them end in beautiful mountain roads, and all of them start with an ILP sorted online.
Gateway by circuit
- Tawang, Bomdila, Dirang: fly Guwahati (or Tezpur’s rare flights), then the two-day climb via Bhalukpong. Our Tawang itinerary paces it.
- Ziro: Guwahati or Lakhimpur road, or the easier eastern approach via Itanagar.
- Pasighat, Along, Mechuka: Dibrugarh ferry-plus-road, or Guwahati the long way. Mechuka guide.
- Anini: the deep end via Roing; the guide is honest about it.
The drive-time truth
Arunachal eats days: Tawang is two driving days from Guwahati, Mechuka two from Dibrugarh-side. Distances lie on these roads; plan nights, not kilometres.
Permits, once more
Indians: ILP before travel, online. Foreigners: PAP through registered operators, us included. The permit hub holds every form link.
