Day 1 Guwahati → Dirang

Morning Pickup from Guwahati and start the climb into Arunachal, tea gardens, then the hills around Tezpur and Bomdila.

Evening Arrive Dirang. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Dirang → Tawang (via Sela Pass)

Morning The big drive: cross the 4,170m Sela Pass, frozen lakes either side, the Welcome arch, and the first views of the Tawang valley.

Afternoon & evening Descend to Tawang town. Check in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 Tawang

Morning Tawang Monastery, the largest in India, second largest in the world. Morning prayers, the Dukhang, the giant Buddha and the library.

Afternoon & evening Tawang War Memorial, the town market and the monastery viewpoint. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 4 Tawang, lakes & high passes

Full day Day trip to Madhuri Lake (Shungtser Tso) and Pangateng Tso, glacial water and pine stumps. Continue to Bum La Pass on the China border when permits and weather allow.

Evening Return to Tawang. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 Tawang → Dirang

Morning Leave Tawang, crossing Sela again, with a stop at the Nuranang waterfall near Jang.

Evening Arrive Dirang or Bomdila. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 Dirang → Guwahati

Morning & afternoon The long descent back through the hills to the plains.

Evening Drop-off at Guwahati (airport / railway station).
