Hornbill Cancellation Terms, in Plain English
The plain-English version of our cancellation terms, before you ask and before you book. The full legal text lives on the cancellation page; this is how it actually behaves.
The honest summary
- Far-out cancellations recover most of your money: our real costs (held beds, blocked vehicles) are the only deductions.
- Close-in cancellations (inside the festival fortnight) recover less, because December beds and 2am-capable drivers are already paid for. These are scarcity markets, not margin games.
- Date moves beat cancellations: where the season allows, we move your seat to another departure and charge only real cost differences.
- Force majeure: bandhs, landslides, Sela-type closures. We reroute first (our plan-B habit); refunds follow the published policy when travel is truly impossible.
The flight rule
Book refundable or flexible fares for Dimapur if your own plans wobble; our ground terms cannot insure your flight. (Booking curve.)
Quick answers
Are Hornbill bookings refundable? Yes, on a sliding window; the earlier, the fuller the refund.
Can I move dates instead of cancelling? Usually yes for a season move; real cost differences only.
What if the festival itself changes? State-level changes are force majeure: reroute, credit or refund per policy.
