The Doyang flows out of the hills through Wokha district to a reservoir behind the hydro dam: in October-November it is the legendary Amur falcon roost (the story that changed Nagaland’s conservation law), and year-round it is quiet water, banks and boat country.
Best time: October-November for falcons.

ILP required for Indian nationals outside the Hornbill window (waived Dec 1–10 with photo ID), online at ilp.nagaland.gov.in; foreign nationals pay a fee.
October to March is the clean window; December adds the Hornbill Festival, and the monsoon makes eastern roads slow.
