Kapamodzü is the tabletop peak above Zhavame village in Phek district: at about 2,620m it ranks among the state’s highest and is widely described as Nagaland’s highest table mountain. The climb from Zhavame takes about an hour by the official guide, with flower slopes opening onto a summit plateau with 360 views toward the Saramati range, Japfü Peak and Kohima’s hills, per the state tourism feature.
Autumn turns the plateau into cosmos country, October and November bring the pink and white bloom that fills every camera roll from the peak, and simple wooden cabins near the top let small groups sleep inside the view. The December festival adds the traditional overnight ridge camp (Dec 3–4 in the 2026 calendar).
