How Many Days for Gangtok? 2, 3, 4 and 5 Day Versions
Two days see Gangtok, three see it properly, and four or five buy the excursions that justify the flight. The town rewards walkers; the mountains around it reward patience.
The day ladder
- 2 days: MG Marg, Rope-way, Enchey and the viewpoints, one cafe evening. City done.
- 3 days: add Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (permit day-trip); the classic trio.
- 4 days: add Rumtek and a Pelling transfer, or Nathula when permits align.
- 5 days: North Sikkim’s Yumthang edge as an overnight, or the relaxed east-and-west mix.
The honest pacing note
Arrive-day altitude and hill traffic eat more time than maps suggest; plan one “big” thing per day and let MG Marg evenings carry the rest. The reach guide puts arrival at day zero for a reason.
