Wei Sawdong is the most photographed of the Sohra falls: three stacked tiers of turquoise water reached down a bamboo-and-timber staircase built into the gorge wall. The last ladder drops you at the lowest pool.
Best time: October to April for safe stairs; monsoon closes the descent when wet.

October to May works; the monsoon is the point in Cherrapunji and Mawsynram, and the fiercest anywhere in India.
