Nongkhnum is West Khasi Hills’ river island, formed where the Kynshi splits: grass flats and sand banks with the Weinia and Kshaid Thum falls at the edges. It is a camping-and-slow-walk destination reached by boat and foot from Nongstoin.
Best time: October to March.
