Arrival timing
Pickup batches leave Dimapur at 6:00 AM or 10:30 AM (airport and railway station both). Land by the evening before and we add a night near the station, or land by ~10:00 AM on Day 1 and go straight up the hill. Later than that and you miss the first festival afternoon.
Guwahati is the Northeast's gateway city, the shortest flight to Dimapur, the main rail line, and the road option if you want the tea-garden drive.
Most multi-state itineraries (Meghalaya + Hornbill, Kaziranga + Hornbill) route through here. Pair the festival with Kaziranga or Majuli, see our combined guides.
