Konyak call Mon home, and the district's calendar centres on Aoleang (first week of April). Every tribe also brings its culture to the <a href="/hornbill-festival/">Hornbill Festival</a> each December, the easiest way to meet all of Nagaland’s communities in one trip.
Why travellers come
Mon is the Konyak kingdom, the district of tattooed former headhunters, log drums and border villages. The journey is the barrier and the prize: no rail, thin stays, and culture at a depth Kisama can only sample. We arrange Mon circuits as custom trips.
Getting there
