Nongriat is the village at the bottom of the gorge: about 3,500 steps from the Tyrna trailhead, past the single root bridge to the famous double-decker, with natural swimming pools and homestays under the jungle canopy.
The Rainbow Falls day-walk (a further few hours of crossing and climbing) is the classic out-and-back, best in the post-monsoon and winter months when the rocks are dry.
