The Wancho people

The Wancho live in Longding and Tirap districts toward the Myanmar border, known for strong wood-carving traditions (figures, morung posts) and the Oriah festival each spring.
Wancho society was traditionally organised around chiefs (Wangham), and tattooed elders remain the living record of a warrior past.
