The Nocte people
The Tirap hills people and Chalo Loku, the harvest festival of November.
The Nocte ("village people") live in the Tirap district hills around Khonsa, related to the Konyak of Nagaland across the border. Chalo Loku, their harvest festival in late November, gathers the villages for dance and feasting.
Nocte villages keep traditional dormitory houses (pah) and strong drum traditions.
