Solo travel works well across Meghalaya, Assam and Sikkim’s main circuits: shared taxis, homestays and tourist infrastructure are real. Protected-area zones (North Sikkim, Nathula, Arunachal) need registered-agency runs, which solo travellers join as groups, and that is fine.
Nagaland is welcoming and safe-feeling, with English everywhere; solo women travellers routinely report positive experiences, with normal hill-country precautions.
