The region runs on its festival calendar: Hornbill, Chapchar Kut, Bihu, Wangala, Saga Dawa and eighty more.
Every community keeps its own festival, and the calendar never really sleeps: Sekrenyi in February, Aoleang in April, Moatsu in May, Chapchar Kut’s first Friday of March, Behdienkhlam’s July, the November run of Nongkrem, Wangala and Tokhu Emong, and December’s Hornbill.
Year-specific dates live in our events register with sources; everything else is announced annually by the communities.
