Haflong is Assam Tourism’s only hill station, the headquarters of the Dima Hasao hill district: a lake, ridge viewpoints, and hill-tribe cultures (Dimasa, Hmar, Zeme and more) in every direction.
The November-March window is the official season: cool, dry, good for trekking and sightseeing; September to November adds the Jatinga bird phenomenon on the road out of town.
